Many people struggle to lose weight, with strict diet menus and intense exercise. However, you only need to change the color of the dish , the food packaging can also reduce cravings.

According to Charles Spence, a professor of experimental psychology, at Oxford University, red often appears in danger warning signs, which make dishes less appealing in the eyes of users. Meanwhile, white plates make the food look better , especially with sweet foods like cakes and ice cream.

The white plate made the food look better.

In 2011, a group of researchers from the University of Valencia (Spain) conducted a test of the effects of disc color on food cravings. They asked 51 volunteers to eat a dessert of strawberry mousse cake on two types of white and black.

The results showed that 7% of people eating on white plates felt the cake was sweeter, 13% felt better and 9% thought it was more fun than using a black plate.

This may be because white discs often have a color contrasting with the color of the food, so we can see our food clearly and easily save the impression of the food in the eyes.

This is not the only study involving white dishes analyzed by scientists. Another study by researchers at Stirling University (Scotland) was done for patients with dementia. They found that replacing the green plates in the hospital with white plates made each patient eat about 200 grams more of food each day. After more than 4 months, the weight of each patient increased an average of 2.7-3.2kg.

These studies show that the higher the contrast between the color of the food and the higher the dish, the more likely it is to stimulate appetite.
