Why the snow is white?
Water is a transparent colorless compound; Ice particles are colorless and transparent. Snow is made up of countless tiny ice particles, so why is snow white?
Due to light reflection and refraction, snowflakes will turn white.
First of all, two phenomena need to be observed: In the summer, we put plant stones on planing machines and planing them, the transparent stone suddenly turns into countless white snowflakes.
Sometimes you are not careful to break glassware, when you scan transparent colored debris into a pile, you will find a pile of broken glass suddenly turned white .
It is the transformation of the illuminated form of light that creates the white color of snow and broken glass. Glass and lumps are transparent and colorless when their surfaces are smooth, because then light can penetrate completely. If the surface is protruding, when light passes through, there will be reflection and refraction of light , which will turn white. The smaller, the more protruding they will become white. So sand glass is always white than normal glass. Snow flowers are very small ice particles , have angular shape so when combined, the snow becomes white.
