Windows Vista has been cracked

Researchers participating in the Black Hat Conference this year have demonstrated the next version of Windows Vista's "unlocking" method.

Picture 1 of Windows Vista has been cracked Joanna Rutkowska - a Polish researcher working at Singapore-based Coseinc Research Center - demonstrated how it can be used to bypass security solutions to prevent the operation of code not licensed in Windows Vista.

Also in the pre-presentation of the Black Hat Conference, Rutkowska also launched a demonstration of a virtualization application solution to hide malicious code, making it impossible to detect. Rutkowska calls this a Blue Pill solution.

" Microsoft is currently working on application solutions in Windows Vista to combat attacks such as those demonstrated at Black Hat ," a software vendor representative said. " In addition, we are working with hardware manufacturers to find solutions against virtualization attacks such as the Blue Pill solution ."

Earlier, Microsoft decided to provide a Windows Vista beta at the Black Hat Conference and called on experts to test and help find weaknesses in this version of the operating system.

Microsoft has advertised Vista as the safest version of Windows operating system ever. This is the operating system version that passed the Security Development Lifecycle test - a test of code and errors before the product is shipped.

" The fact that I can overcome the anti-malware mechanism in Windows Vista does not mean that Vista is completely insecure. It is very difficult to implement the perfect operating system security solutions. 100% , "Rutkowska said. " Vista can hardly be what Microsoft advertised ."
