One study found that, in the 10 days before the menstrual period began, women often failed to control spending behavior when they went shopping.

In the past many psychologists believed that buying compensation was one of the ways for women to cope with the psychological upset or imbalance caused by hormonal changes that preceded the menstrual cycle. To test this hypothesis, experts from the University of Hertfordshire (UK) invited 443 women to participate in a trial. The team asked volunteers to track the amount of money spent each day of the month. This work is done for months.

Experts have found that the ability to control these women 's spending changes periodically. Specifically, nearly two-thirds of volunteers admitted they were willing to buy really unnecessary things in the last days of the cycle. 63% said that, compared to other days of the month, they spend more in 10 days before the new cycle begins.

"Women tend to spend more money and have less computation if they go shopping 10 days before the start of their period , " said Karen Pine, the lead researcher.

According to Pine, women always feel bored, angry or stressed during the pre-cycle period due to hormonal changes (this phenomenon occurs monthly). So many sisters, especially those with middle and high incomes, consider shopping as one of the measures to ward off negative emotions.

"For women, shopping is a more reasonable way to relieve feelings of stress than drinking alcohol or using stimulants. If you are worried about the risk of wasteful spending, they should not go shopping. days before the first day of menstruation , " commented Pine.
