Yahoo & Symantec alliance in the field of security
Today, Symantec and Yahoo are expected to announce a cooperation plan to improve online security for customers.
Information from an e-mail from Yahoo's public relations representative sent to reporters yesterday said the partnership agreement would include the release of several new security products.
Yahoo and Symantec declined to comment further on the information.
The information about Symantec and Yahoo's cooperation agreement was announced shortly after Yahoo's rival AOL announced testing Total Security's comprehensive security service. AOL products are also the result of a partnership between the company and its direct competitor, Symantec, security firm McAfee.
Yahoo and Symantec have had a long history of cooperation on a number of products such as virus scanning for Yahoo's free email service.
Meanwhile, Symantec has a lot of different partnerships to bring its products to users' PCs.
