Yahoo closes the online auction site

Yahoo has just officially announced it will close Yahoo Auctions online auction site. From June 3, the site will start not receiving new auction lists. June 16 is Yahoo Auctions' last day of operation.

So within just over a week, Yahoo continuously announced the closure of two of its most user-friendly services. Last week was Yahoo Photos and this week is Yahoo Auctions.

Yahoo officials said their closure of Yahoo Photos is aimed at promoting the online digital photo sharing service on the Web 2.0 Flickr platform. Yahoo Photos will also officially shut down in June.

However, Yahoo Auction initially only closed with the US and Canada markets. The service continues to operate in 3 Asian markets - Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.

The official announcement on Yahoo Auctions page of the US and Canada confirms: "After careful consideration, we decided to close the online auction site in the US and Canada market to focus on serving customers better. goods use some other valuable Yahoo services ".

In a statement released last weekend, Yahoo Network Division executive vice president Jeff Weiner said the company is making every effort to redevelop its resources and strategic priorities.

Yahoo spokesman declined to confirm whether Yahoo's recent closure of service sites is part of a campaign to eliminate its inefficient services.

ComScore's statistics show that eBay, the world's leading online auction company, accounts for 94% of the US market share. Yahoo's market share is only about 0.2%.
