Stem cells can stop aging, even lasting up to three times, scientists claim.

A recent experiment demonstrated that only one injection of a single stem cell helped the white mice live three times longer. In addition, injections help them grow larger and healthier.

According to DailyMail , the effect of the injection is even evident on cells in the experimental dish, where young stem cells are placed next to aging cells. The results showed that the weak, aging cells were also 'spring' when placed next to healthy new cells.

The University of Pittsburgh also experimented on genetically engineered mice for premature aging, a syndrome called progeria . This disease also occurs in humans, when many babies have faces and forms of old people. When observing mice 'stem cells, the researchers found that not only were there less numbers, but also that their rate of cell regeneration was much slower than that of normal mice. However, after being injected with stem cells, progeria mice will survive three times longer than when not injected, from an average of 21-28 days of age to more than 66 days. Their size is nearly as large as those of healthy mice, inside the brain and the muscles appear new blood vessels.

Dr. Laura Niedernhofer believes that this is because healthy stem cells help repair abnormalities within the cells of aging mice. The brains and muscles of mice have a significant improvement in function, although the team did not find stem cells in these organs.'In fact, stem cells do not migrate to a specific tissue or organ after the injection,' said Niedernhofer. 'This fact makes us believe that healthy cells will set up a new environment within the body, helping to overcome abnormalities or disorders in the host's stem cells'.
