Super typhoon Nanmadol swept through the Philippines

At least 4 people died and went missing when super typhoon Namadol today directly affected the northernmost region of the Philippines.

Nanmadol , the strongest storm swept across the Philippines this year, caused heavy rains and landslides in northern Cagayan province, AFP reported. Meanwhile, two children were killed by landslides in a mountainous area north of Manila. Two fishermen went missing in the big wave because of rough seas.

Residents living in areas prone to landslides and flash floods have been evacuated, but the number of people who have fled from their homes for refuge is not yet announced.

With winds up to 230 km / hour, super typhoon Nanmadol moves quite slowly. It only goes about 9 km per hour. It is this that makes Philippine officials worried, because the loss of life and wealth will be directly proportional to the time the storm also directly affects the provinces of the country.

The Philippine weather forecast agency said that super typhoon Nanmadol will still operate in the north of the big island of Luzon until at least tomorrow. It will continue to cause heavy rain and strong winds on a large area. Super typhoon Nanmadol, named after an ancient relic site in the island of Micronesia in Oceania, is capable of uprooting old trees and destroying houses.

Nanmadol is expected to move north and land on the east coast of Taiwan on August 29.

The Philippines is considered a typhoon in the Asia-Pacific region, with an average of 20 storms and super typhoons each year. Last month, Nock-ten and Muifa storms claimed 70 lives in the Philippines.
