1/3: VNPT charges for new VSAT-IP service

From March 1, Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group VNPT will apply the new service fee based on VSAT-IP satellite information system.

VSAT-IP system provides broadband IP-based telecommunications services by small-sized earth stations (VSAT).

Currently, VTI International Telecommunications has provided services based on this technology: telephone, broadband Internet access; Private rental channel, mobile trunk and virtual private network. This is a technology with reduced cost, especially the installation is very convenient for rural areas, remote areas.

VSAT-IP voice service subscription fee is VND 27,000 / month (excluding VAT). Particularly in the communes under the socio-economic development program, the particularly difficult communes in the mountainous and remote areas of the Government, the monthly subscription fee is reduced to VND 18,000 / month. The contact fee is VND 1,090 / minute for calls from VSAT-IP subscribers to VSAT in the country, public and mobile telephone networks and vice versa.

Compared to the past, Internet access service is divided into many packages depending on the speed: 512kbps / 128kbps; 1Mbps / 512kbps; 1.5Mbps / 512kbps; 2Mbps / 512kbps. Monthly subscription fee has 4 levels, depending on speed, respectively 30,000 VND / month, 85,000 VND / month, 185,000 VND / month and 1,000,000 VND / month. Package fee is VND 275,000 / month, VND 605,000 / month, VND 805,000 / month and VND 3,500,000 / month respectively.

Fee for renting private channel IP from point-to-point commitment speed is divided by 6 speeds of 64Kbps, 128Kbps, 256Kbps, 521Kbps; 1Mbps and 2Mbps.
