2007: Vietnam hosted the Robocon Innovation Contest

The 2006 Robocon Innovation Contest will have 220 teams throughout the country taking prequalification, selecting 48 teams to finalize in Da Nang from May 29 to June 4. Vietnam will host the Robocon 2007 Innovation Contest.

On April 5, in Da Nang, Vietnam Television (VTV) held a press conference to introduce the Vietnam Robocon Innovation Contest 2006. Deputy General Director VTV Tran Dang Tuan said that a total of 320 teams registered to attend. This year, there were 26 teams compared to 2002, 130 teams in 2003, 157 teams in 2004 and 303 teams registered in 2005.

Through the qualifying round, 220 teams from 48 schools are eligible to participate in the national preliminaries; in which the colleges and professional high schools contribute to the number of teams over the previous years, 36 teams.

From April 10 to April 20, the preliminary round of the 2006 Vietnam Robocon contest will take place in three regions North - Central - South. This is also the first time the Vietnam Robocon Innovation Contest has been organized in all 3 regions.

95 teams in the North will focus on competing at the Military Technical Academy Gymnasium to choose 14 teams and Central teams to compete at Danang University of Physical Education Center to select 6 teams and domain teams Male competed at District 4 Gymnasium - HCMC to select 12 teams to participate in the national finals to be held at Nguyen Tri Phuong Sports Center (Da Nang) from May 29 to June 4, 2006.

In addition to the first prize worth 40 million VND, the championship team will receive a donation of 1,000 USD to complete the robot to Malaysia to attend the Asia-Pacific Robocon Innovation Contest in August 2006. The theme of this year's Robocon Asia-Pacific Creative Competition is "Reaching the peak".

This is the 5th time VTV has organized the Robocon VN Innovation Contest for students of universities, colleges and professional high schools throughout the country, in order to create conditions for future engineers to have the opportunity to implement the ideas. bold idea, build machines by a given theme.

Meanwhile, the representative of Toyota VN Company (TMV) said that TMV has sponsored the Vietnam Robocon Innovation Contest organized by VTV during the past 5 years with a total amount of nearly VND 6.5 billion.

TMV intends to continue sponsoring the contest when Vietnam hosts the Robocon Asia-Pacific Creative Competition in 2007.
