Vietnam hosts the international programming competition

On November 24-25, the 31st ACM / ICPC international programming competition - Asia-Pacific regional qualifiers will be held at the University of Technology (Hanoi National University).

ACM / ICPC is a prestigious prestigious programming test in the world, first organized in the United States in 1970 under the auspices of the ACM Computer Association. The competition will have 1 championship, 3 gold prizes, 4 silver prizes and 4 bronze awards given to the top 12 teams. The winning team will attend the final exam held in Japan in March 2007.

To date, there are 70 teams registered to participate in this competition, of which nearly 15 international teams come from Hong Kong University, Seoul National University (Korea), Shanghai Jiaotong University. (China) . From China there are 5 teams, from Korea there are 4 teams, one Hong Kong team and 1 Japanese team.

The list of 55 domestic teams has also fully gathered prestigious names: Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences, University of Technology, Hanoi National University, Hanoi University of Technology, Military Technical Academy, Academy of Posts and Telecommunications and Information Technology (IT) .

According to Mr. Nguyen Long, VAIP Secretary General, for the first time Vietnam hosted the international programming competition, affirming Vietnam's position in Asia and the world of young IT-communication resources; step by step affirming the integration ability of Vietnamese youth in this field, especially programming skills according to international standards and foreign languages.
