Do not reduce attractiveness

Answering the reporter on this issue, Mr. Pham Viet Tien, Head of Science Department (VTV2) - Vietnam Television, Deputy Head of the contest said: It is true that in the past one, two years, some schools University is very strong in Robocon with few participating teams.

This can be mentioned as Ho Chi Minh City Polytechnic University (the only team of Vietnam who won the Robocon Asia-Pacific region 3 years: 2002, 2004, 2006), Hanoi University of Technology , Military Technical Academy, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education (champion of Vietnam Robocon 2009) .

However, the 2012 Robocon Final also saw the overwhelming dominance of Lac Hong University with 12 teams, occupying the entire "capacity" to attend the final round of the Southern region.

According to Mr. Tien, the high-ranked schools have become experts, advising smaller schools.

In the aspect of the Organizing Committee, Vietnam Television cannot force schools to participate. The benefit of the competition is not the prize but the potential of the students to develop. When winning, that school will make a certain resonance.

This year, the Organizing Committee has recorded 218 teams from 47 universities and colleges competing.

Mr. Tran Dung Trinh (Deputy General Director of VTV), Head of Vietnam Robocon Organizing Committee 2012, said that this is the year with the largest number of colleges and technology high schools participating. This is also a 'good season' for many schools for the first time with the participation of teams such as Hanoi Electromechanical College, Hanoi High-Tech College, Quy Nhon Vocational College .

Mr. Tien said the organizers did not find it difficult when few large university teams attended.

In fact, Robocon qualifier has taken place very exciting, expressing creativity and passion of the students. The attraction is that Robocon playground has become a brand and every year, teams are often different students.

In the case of Lac Hong University, the Organizing Committee said that the regulation of Robocon is that each school is allowed to have 15 teams to attend. Therefore, the 12 teams of Lac Hong in the Final round did not violate the statute. However, the Organizing Committee will also calculate for the draw of the table to avoid the case that Lac Hong's teams fall into one table, which is easy to cause negative.

Robocon 2013: Promising promise

Like previous 'Robocon seasons' , the champion team will represent Vietnamese students to attend the Asia-Pacific Robot Innovation Contest. This year, this event was held in Hong Kong in August 2012.

Contest of Robocon 2012 based on the idea of Cheung Chau Dumpling Contest. Each team of 4 members can use up to three robots, including a manual robot, an autonomous robot and a collecting robot that performs the task of collecting dumplings on the tower.

The Manual Robot must carry the operator and coordinate with the other two Automatic Robots to carry out the task of passing through the tunnel, crossing the bridge, climbing stairs . to pick up 3 dumplings on the tower and then drop it into the basket. Victory will be won for the team with the fastest execution time.

However, a general comment of the students in many Robocon seasons is a tight exam when the robot must follow the right route, 10m range of the field .

Not sharing specifically, but Mr. Tien 'turned on the eyelid' , in 2013, Vietnam will become the host country of the competition and the exam questions will be written by us. or it will be a test: 'strange, new, attractive and technical will be many times harder than previous exams'.
