Launching the Vietnam Robocon Contest 2007

On October 21, 2006, Vietnam Television will carry out a live television program The 5th anniversary of Vietnam Robocon Contest and launch the Vietnam Robocon Contest 2007. This is an annual contest for students. Technical blocks throughout the country, contributing to the development of science and technology countries in the Asia - Pacific region.

The theme of Vietnam Robocon 2007 is Discovering Ha Long. The deadline for registration is from November 30, 2006. With the theme of Ha Long Discovery, the robots (symbolizing dragons) will carry cylindrical blocks (symbolizing gems) to create large and small islands symbolizing Ha Long and Bai Tu Long. The first team to complete the construction of the victorious islands (three islands forming three vertices of the V) will win the absolute VictoryIslands victory. Each match lasts 3 minutes.

There were 26 teams registered to participate in the first contest in 2002, in 2003 there were 87 teams, in 2004 there were 120 teams, in 2005: more than 303 teams and in 2006: 327 teams.

In 2007, the final round of the domestic competition will take place from May 28, 2007 to June 3, 2007. After winning the Vietnam round, the most representative team will participate in the competition in the Thi Chau round. Asia - Pacific. 4 big prizes of Vietnam Robot for 5 years participating in the international arena showed that Vietnam Robot has not won by luck. That victory is an inevitable result of the passion, clever competition solutions and enthusiastic spirit of competition of Vietnamese students.

The other great meaning that Vietnam Robocon contest has brought during the past 5 years is also the encouragement for the creative spirit of Vietnamese students, especially engineering students. Vietnam Robocon may be just a small brick but indispensable in the process of building up Vietnam's integration and development science and technology.

In particular, Vietnam is the host of the Asia-Pacific Robocon in 2007, scheduled to be held in Hanoi from August 24 to 29, 2007.
