An adult male bear usually weighs about 350-540kg, equivalent to the weight of 5-7 men. According to the International Polar Bear Organization, the largest bear ever recorded weighs 1 ton. In contrast, adult females weigh only half as much as male bears, ranging from 50-295kg. At birth, bears are quite small and weigh about 0.5kg. Males will reach adult size at the age of 8-14, in females 5-6 years old.

If not eaten within 7-10 days, a white bear can slow down the metabolism until it reaches the next meal. The main food of white bears is seals. According to the researchers, the effects of climate change make this bear's food source become scarce and cause white bears to attack humans. The bear does not hibernate, however during the time when the mother bears the cave to take care of the baby bear, usually from January to March each year, they will not eat, drink or use the toilet.

Polar bears are recognized very quickly by their distinctive white fur. However, their feathers are not white but colorless and hollow, like white hair in humans. Reindeer is a species seen in purple light and can identify this characteristic of the polar bear.

4. Good sense of smell

The polar bear is a very sensitive sense of smell. This is the advantage they use to find bait. White bears can sniff a seal from a distance of 32km and can smell the seal of a seal in a tape 800 meters away.
