6 extreme personal hygiene habits we still make every day
Maintaining personal hygiene is a very necessary habit, to ensure the body is always healthy. However, hygiene must also follow certain rules to ensure effectiveness. And you know, it turns out there are many rules we make every day that we don't know about.
1. Bathe too many times a day
Bathing is one of the most basic methods of personal hygiene, but did you know that taking too much shower can be just as bad as not having a shower all week?
This is the conclusion of epidemiologists from Columbia University. Accordingly, the bath too much will make your skin dry, cracked, thereby making it easier for bacteria to penetrate the body and create extremely uncomfortable diseases.
Experts said that the frequency of bathing a day should not be more than 1 time.
2. Do not wash your hands before going to the toilet
It sounds ridiculous, but you don't just need to wash your hands after going to the toilet, you have to wash them beforehand.
The reality is that bacteria don't just exist in toilets, but are everywhere in your home. Even the toilet is not the dirtiest place in the house. This means that if you only wash your hands after going to the toilet, the bacteria must have always existed on you.
And by the time "behave" in the toilet, touching the sensitive parts, bacteria can invade and cause dangerous diseases. That's why even washing your hands before going to the toilet on several levels is more important than washing later.
3. Jerk the toilet with your fingertips
Prevention magazine mentions an observational study of a basic WC. Accordingly, after discharging water, until 1.5 hours later there are still countless "droplets" of bacteria scattered on the surface of the room.
So at least, do not use your fingertips to flush the toilet. Instead, use the back joint of your finger, as in the image above.
It is as simple as that, but it is helpful to practice this habit. In case you forget to wash your hands but touch other objects, it helps bacteria from the toilet do not spread to the surrounding environment.
4. Using a pillow for a long time
Pillows - whether stuffed or feathered - are a paradise for dust mites and mold after a period of use. If you repeatedly use the same pillow without washing or replacing, they can touch your face, causing many uncomfortable problems like itchiness, dermatitis, allergies.
Dirty pillows are also one of the most common causes of dermatological problems, even damaging the respiratory system. So if possible, wash your pillow once a week, or at most 2 weeks.
5. Sleeping with pets
One of the most common hygiene mistakes involves having a dog or cat sleep in the same bed with us. In fact, no matter how well cared for, dogs and cats have germs on their fur, sometimes even deadly bacteria.
6. Wash your face with cake soap
Some people mistakenly think that soap can be used to wash all body parts, including the face.
But in fact, facial skin is very different from the rest of the body. In fact, cake soap can clog pores, and make acne worse. Besides, the soap itself is not designed for the skin of the face, can disrupt the pH and ruin the protective layer on our face.
So remember, cleanser is allowed to use on the "front" of your skin only.
