Cabbage is benign but Dr. Vu noted that it should not be used for people with cold constitution. If you want to use it, you must combine it with fresh ginger . People with constipation and little urination should not eat raw cabbage or pickled cabbage but must cook it.

Cabbage contains a small amount of goitrin , which is an antioxidant, but it can cause goiter if eaten in large amounts. People with thyroid disorders or goiter should not eat cabbage because it will cause the thyroid gland or goiter to enlarge.

If you want to eat cabbage, only eat a moderate amount. Before eating, you should cut each leaf, soak and wash it, then chop it finely. Leave it for 10-15 minutes before cooking. This will cause the goitrin to decompose completely.

People with severe kidney failure or those undergoing dialysis should not use cabbage.
