Accidentally turned into ... mummy
The intact dried corpses were found in the city of Guanajuato (Mexico) without a noble background from the royal court. On the contrary, they belong to the poorest class of society, because they do not have the money to buy land to bury their bodies but accidentally turn into eternity.
Not long ago, archaeologists found more than 100 dried corpses in Guanajuato's heart - this discovery immediately put the city on the world 'mummy map'.
There are two reasons why Guanajuato ' accidentally ' possesses such an amazing number of mummies: first, because the weather is too dry; Monday, because the city cemetery is too crowded.
In ancient times, the Guanajuato people had to spend a considerable amount of money hoping to send the deceased to rest in the town cemetery. For the poor who cannot afford to pay, their only solution is to pay installments each year. If for some reason the relative cannot pay off the debt, the corpse will immediately be dug up, giving way to other ' applications '.
At the end of the 18th century, the cemetery management board conducted a " removal " of some of the late debtors. Oddly, among the ' products ' that were unearthed there were no few corpses that had dried and handcuffed themselves. Obviously, the harsh dry weather stopped the decomposition process.
