Accumulate wind energy with flywheel

Using the wind-driven propeller to turn into a rotary motion, then transfer that mechanical energy into the flywheel into the " energy" used for generators. Thus, the machine can run stably continuously despite strong or weak winds.

This is a new idea of engineer Tran Dinh Ba, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Architectural Association, announced at the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City area.

According to engineer Ba, this is a potential solution to exploit and accumulate energy from the wind - an infinite and clean energy source that is both clean and cheap and is also a measure of "splitting fire" with the current energy crisis.

The idea of using flywheels to accumulate wind energy is done according to Newton's momentum principle, ie "if not affected by a different force, then a standing object will stand still forever, and an object moving will move forever ".

After being charged, the flywheel will preserve energy according to the law: "Energy does not naturally appear and it does not naturally disappear, it changes from one form to another".

Engineer Ba said, the method of energy saving with flywheels is more efficient and convenient than the old wind power methods because it can store a huge amount of energy, enough to operate generators in times of weak wind.

The structure of the flywheel is a coaxial cylindrical metal block placed on two bearings made of centrifugal force when bearing at high speed. The larger the flywheel, the greater the accumulated energy.

Wind energy will be stored in the steering wheel according to the principle of a hydroelectric reservoir, from which it will be used for machine tools or generators that generate electricity by connecting the drive, the energy in the steering wheel will Forced spinning machine tools strictly follow the principle of energy transfer from high to low.

When the machine tool is not in use, the energy in the flywheel is still preserved according to the momentum principle. 'When there is no wind, machine tools, generators still operate because of the mechanical energy stored in flywheels,' said engineer Ba.

According to Mr. Ba, according to the principle of "contributing wind to storms", people still get energy in weak winds to accumulate in flywheels, so arranging wind power exploitation plants can be built. everywhere without depending on the wind speed, the map of wind energy and no impact is harmful to the environment, the simple structure flywheel, straight shaft, no need to cool like a heat engine, no discharge hazardous substances, the exploitation of wind energy will place any position in hospitals, schools, markets, hotels, on boats, in factories, islands, peaks .

However, in the opinion of some scientists, the design of "wind power" plants seems to be more suitable for the less wind-prone localities, the terrain is more empty than in urban areas because they are very easy. ruin the beauty.

According to Professor Nguyen Mong Giao, Institute of Nuclear Physics in Ho Chi Minh City, it is necessary to elaborate further on the problem of hoarding wind energy by steering wheel, according to Mr. Giao, in theory, the accumulation Wind energy is not difficult, but so far large scientists in the world have not found a viable solution to 'master' this energy source.
