Add a new security application from Symantec
Symantec has released a free trial version of the new Norton AntiBot software that identifies malware on the system by analyzing their behavior.
Standalone Norton AntiBot software is based on existing technology from Sana Security, plus some add-ins from Symantec's SONAR behavior scanning technology currently available in Norton products.
Symantec said AntiBot is a backend, not a replacement for antivirus software, and does not use virus signature signatures like traditional antivirus products. Instead, AntiBot will check how a program works: run from where, change the Registry, connect to any website .
Symantec said AntiBot does not conflict with its other antivirus programs and other company's products.
Although the SONAR feature only runs during virus scanning, Symantec said AntiBot will run in the background to observe the behavior of all programs.
And although the name AntiBot seems to emphasize anti-bot functionality (a type of malware that turns computers infected into "ghost" computer networks remotely controlled by hackers) The main service of this application is very diverse, involving many other malicious software, including "keylog".
Currently the trial version of AntiBot is available for free. Symantec is expected to release a complete version in July and will not be as free as the trial version.
