Admire the inside of the 'Made in China' plane that first arrived in Vietnam

China Commercial Aircraft Corporation (Comac) allowed viewers to freely visit the two aircraft C919 and ARJ21-700 parked at Van Don airport (Quang Ninh).

The C919 and ARJ21-700 aircraft are the first two types of civil aircraft in China designed and manufactured by Comac. Currently, these two aircraft are being exhibited at Van Don airport (Quang Ninh). Vietnam is the second foreign destination of the C919 aircraft after Singapore.

The event is part of Comac's plan to introduce the "Made in China" aircraft to 5 Southeast Asian countries. At the end of the event in Van Don, the two planes will continue to fly to Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Vientiane City (Laos).

Inside, the C919 has a similar configuration to the narrow-body aircraft Boeing 737 and Airbus A320/321. However, the price of each C919 is only about 99 million USD, cheaper than the Airbus A320 NEO or Boeing 737. Comac created the C919 with the expectation of competing with the two most popular commercial aircraft lines in the world.

The business cabin of the C919 aircraft is designed similarly to the A321 with 8 leather seats divided into 2 sides, with curtains separating it from the economy cabin.

The general cargo configuration on this narrow-body aircraft is similar to the two Airbus A320/A321 and Boeing 737 MAX models with three seats on each side.

Even though it is announced as a "Made in China" aircraft, the C919 still depends heavily on components and materials assembled from abroad. The communication and navigation system uses components from manufacturer Rockwell Collins (USA)

The C919 kitchen can accommodate 7 food carts with the same system, bar, and food warmer on the aircraft as on the Airbus aircraft.

The "domestic product" mark of the C919 is in the wings and tail of the aircraft with components made in China.

Meanwhile, the ARJ21-700 is a twin-engine jet aircraft . Chinese airlines have used this jet on many domestic routes. The international customer for this aircraft is Indonesia with one delivered in 2022.

ARJ21 has a flight range of 2,225 km to 3,700 km. The ship can have a seat configuration of 78 to 97 seats similar to the ATR72 and Embraer 190 aircraft lines available in Vietnam. In addition, ARJ21 can also be configured into a personal jet to serve VIP customers.
