Video: What's special about the first Chinese aircraft C919?

The first C919 aircraft was delivered to China Eastern Airlines in December 2022, with 164 seats with 8 business seats and 156 economy seats.

China Commercial Aircraft Corporation (Comac) first introduced the C919 at Singapore Airshow 2024 - Asia's largest air show. This is also the first time a machine model designed and manufactured by Comac itself since 2008 has left China.

The C919 has a length of nearly 39 m, can accommodate 168 passengers, and has a maximum flight range of 4,075 km.

The C919 aircraft displayed at the event belongs to China Eastern - the first Chinese airline to receive delivery of this narrow-body aircraft model.

Airplanes are made in China, but still use most components from the US and Europe. The C919 uses CFM International LEAP engines from American and French manufacturers. This engine is also used on Airbus A320 neo aircraft.
