American students successfully built power generation shoes
Four students from the University of Houston's mechanical engineering department built a shoe called PediPower for their graduation project.
Four US students have invented a shoe that helps to produce electricity thanks to footsteps with the ambition that in the future this product can be developed and applied effectively in the energy industry.
According to an electronic newsletter on May 15th of the Texas Medical Center, four mechanical engineering students at Rice University in Houston created a shoe called PediPowe r for their graduation project.

PediPower is capable of generating electric current thanks to a generator located at the sole of the shoe. Each step of the user will activate a lever in the gearbox mounted at the sole of the shoe, thereby impacting an engine, generating an electric current of 400 mW.
This current will then go through the wire to the battery system at the waist, making use of the power supply for portable electronic devices.
The group of four students said they had previously learned and were very interested in the device that generates energy from the knee movement and decided to apply the same principle to the invention of their graduation project. .

Four people then collaborated with the Motion Analysis Laboratory of the Shriners Institute of Pediatrics and found that the force moving from the heel section was the strongest, so decided to choose the sole to place the generator.
Currently, this invention is only at the experimental stage, cannot be applied daily because the shoe is too big. The authors hope that in the future their initiative can continue to be developed, making PediPower a commercial product with high applicability.
