Apple will use flash memory for laptops?
Analyst Shaw Wu, of American Technology Research, who predicted the launch of the iPhone, said it is likely that by the end of this year Apple will use fash memory for its laptops.
According to Shaw Wu, flash memory will replace conventional hard drives in small Apple computers. This conversion will bring many benefits for users when the boot process of the computer will take place very quickly, much faster than when using the hard drive.
Apple is currently using flash memory for its iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle music players. Flash memory is lighter, uses less energy and takes up less space than a hard drive.
Apple spokeswoman Lynn Fox said the company could not comment on the information.
