A team of experts from the National University of Singapore (NUS) created an artificial muscle , which is 80 times heavier and stretches 5 times their original length.

The discovery will pave the way for robot-like projects , and possesses supernatural powers, according to AFP.

In addition, artificial muscle has the potential to convert and store energy, allowing the robot to self-energize after being charged in a short time (less than a minute, for example).

The robots are now limited to the muscles, just enough to lift the object half their weight, which is equivalent to the average human power (though some people can lift 3 times). .

In theory, the artificial muscle of the NUS group can stretch 10 times the original length, but in the experiment only 5 times more stretch.

Singaporeans hope that within three to five years, robotic arms can be built with artificial muscles.
