According to NPC, the factory was inspected twice by the International Atomic Energy Agency IAEA in 1985 - 1985 and approved for receiving materials, starting the test run. However, for many reasons, the plant has not been fully operational and clean uranium since 1997, when radioactive fuel was resold.

Bataan factory tour was opened in March last year, after the Fukushima nuclear power plant had a problem in Japan. The purpose of tourism is to offset maintenance costs for the plant, and to convince public opinion that nuclear power is a safe choice for the Philippines.

The construction site is located about 3 hours away from Manila. Admission fee is 150 pesos (equivalent to 3.5 USD). In addition to sightseeing, visitors are also allowed to swim at a private beach nearby.

The first part of the tour will be a presentation on factory safety features (such as earthquake resistance). The rest will be to directly visit the remarkable parts of the plant such as nuclear furnace, steam generator, control room, turbine generator .

The factory's former Environmental Explorer now turns into a four-bedroom guest house. This beach is exclusively for visitors to visit the factory with a full range of services such as billiards, dart shooting, table tennis, volleyball courts and karaoke.
