Asteroids explode in the sky of Russia

The meteorite exploded with a 2.8 kiloton energy, creating a brilliant fireball in the daytime, visible in many Russian cities.

A 4-meter-wide meteorite, the asteroid warning system of the US Aerospace Agency (NASA), was first detected by sensors designed by the US government to identify nuclear explosions after rushing through the Earth's atmosphere at speeds of more than 52,000 km / h, according to Tech Times. The object exploded at an altitude of 27 km on June 21, emitting dazzling light that could be observed early in the morning in some Russian cities, including the city of Lipetsk in southeastern Moscow.

The fireball glowed in midair.

The image from the car camera shows the glowing fireball in mid-air for a second and leaves a long smoke trail behind for a few minutes in the sky."Witnesses report on explosions in the cities of Kursk, Lipetsk, Voronzeh and Orel" , International Meteorological Organization (IMO) said. Authorities confirmed the explosion's energy was 2.8 kiloton. The impact from the explosion was not large enough to cause damage and no one was injured.

Lindley Johnson, an employee at NASA's Planetary Office, said asteroids flying in this direction are often obscured by sunlight, making it difficult to observe. It is also said that the direction of the 20-meter-diameter meteorite movement fell to Chelyabinsk, Russia, in 2013 and exploded with energy up to 440 kiloton, injuring 400 people. The majority of injuries are caused by shards of glass shot from broken windows due to shock waves.
