Awarding Kovalevskaia Prize 2011 to 2 female scientists
Kovalevskaia Awards 2011 was awarded to 2 female scientists with outstanding achievements in research and application of natural sciences, contributing significantly to the development of the country.
Two scientists including Associate Professor - Dr. Vu Thi Thu Ha (Deputy Director of Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry, Director of Key Laboratory of Refinery and Petrochemical Technology) and Associate Professor - Dr. Le Thi Thanh Nhan (Vice Rector of University of Natural Sciences - Thai Nguyen University).
Associate Professor - Dr. Vu Thi Thu Ha is the first scientific officer and is now the only person of the Vietnam Academy of Industrial Science to study in depth the heterogeneous catalytic technologies applied in the production of environmentally friendly products.
19 years at the Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry, Associate Professor - Dr. Vu Thi Thu Ha has created many environmentally friendly technology products and processes towards sustainable development and contribution. actively build and develop catalytic, filtration and petrochemical technology.
Based on the research results, currently, the project of biodiesel production plant with capacity of 30,000 tons / year and the project of building a factory to produce sorbitol from cassava starch with a capacity of 20,000 tons / year is being deploy the first phase.
Both of these technological processes have been registered for exclusive protection at the Vietnam Intellectual Property Department. The technological process of biodiesel production is also selected by the Ministry of Science and Technology to be exhibited and introduced at the Vietnam Socio-Economic Achievement Exhibition and Thang Long - Hanoi 2010.
With the technological process of producing bio solvent to gradually replace toxic oil solvents, environmental pollution, for the first time in Vietnam and around the world, the technological process of preparing methyleste from Jatropha Curcas seed oil researched methodically and systematically. The results of the esterification process of lactic acid on the new generation of super acid heterogeneous catalysts are unique results, first published in the world and Vietnam.
In particular, the content related to the use of solvents for the esterification process to balance equilibrium has been patented exclusively in France and is now registered exclusively internationally. This is a remarkable success of Ms. Ha and the research team.
In addition to the research works, her scientific papers published in prestigious international and domestic journals are also valuable references.
Associate Professor - Dr. Le Thi Thanh Nhan, Vice Rector of University of Natural Sciences - Thai Nguyen University is the youngest Associate Professor among Vietnamese Associate Professor in 2005.
Her remarkable fortune is 16 works published in prestigious international math journals, including works that have been cited by many mathematicians around the world.
Associate Professor - Dr. Le Thi Thanh Nhan is often invited to criticize scientific papers for national and international math journals. In 5 years, from 2004-2009, she published 9 international ISI articles and was selected to the Scientific Council of the Mathematical Period 2009-2013 of the National Science and Technology Development Fund (Nafosted).
In 2007, she was awarded the Science Prize of the Institute of Mathematics for the cluster of works in the field of Commutative Algebra. Some notable topics are the assistant professor - Dr. Le Thi Thanh Nhan, such as: 'Local control module and application;' 'Some basic problems in commutative algebra;' 'Extensive regular range and local collateral module'.
