Currently, BCIA can use solar energy every day to boil 100 tons of boiling water to serve passengers' needs, heat up 18,000 meals for passengers traveling by Chinese and international airlines like Singapore Airlines and Turkish Airlines.

Thanks to the solar system, BCIA saved 260,000 cubic meters of gas in 2009, earning a considerable amount of money.

In the near future, BCIA will install more solar systems, ensuring enough energy to boil 315 tons of boiling water and warm up about 30,000 meals for passengers on board.

Beijing city government also plans to install a 70 megawatt solar power system in 2012, striving to increase the use of clean and renewable energy sources to 5% in total. energy consumption of the city in the next 2 years.
