Solar car park
At the press meeting on February 1, leader of Da Nang International Airport (CHKQT) said that in the coming time, the car park at this airport will use solar energy.
In the future, the car park at Da Nang airport will use solar energy
At present, the government of Da Nang city has also granted investment license to Da Nang International Airport Corporation in a joint venture with a Belgian company to invest in the construction of the solar power system at the car park of the new station Danang International Airport. The total power capacity of this solar system is 2.7 MW and meets the electricity demand for the station. The total investment for the project is 9.8 million USD, the Belgian company will invest, exploit and resell electricity to Central Airport Corporation for 25 years.
According to Pham Van Thanh, Deputy General Director of Central Airport Corporation, buying and using solar power system will be 5% cheaper than the current electricity system. It is expected that by early July 2012, it will be put into operation.
Also at this meeting, leaders of Da Nang International Airport confirmed that in 2011 the number of visitors through Da Nang International Airport reached 3 million. In 2012, it is expected to reach 3.6 million, increasing by 20% compared to 2011.
