Brain area helps to shape people

British researchers have identified an area of the brain that is involved in cognitive processes that only occur in humans.

The area of the brain called the ventrolateral frontal cortex , which is involved in some of the highest levels of human decision making and planning, was found to be unlike any other. Which brain belongs to the closest relative of the modern person.

'We tend to assume that being able to plan for the future, flexible approach and learn from others is particularly impressive on humanity , ' says psychologist Matthew Rushworth. of Oxford University.

Rushworth said he has identified a unique brain region for humans and is more likely to be involved in human cognitive abilities.

The researchers conducted magnetic brain scans for 25 volunteers, then compared with brain scans of 25 monkeys, according to a Nature report.

In general, everything seems similar in 11 of the 12 brain regions when comparing humans with monkeys.

However, the activity and connection of the prefrontal cortex in the monkey cannot be compared to humans.
