During the rainy season, butterflies live on Mediterranean bushes in the form of caterpillars and eat leaves. At the end of the season, caterpillars turn into butterflies. As the dry season approaches, butterflies migrate to find wet places and stop at Petaloudes valley .(Photo: Wikipedia).
Butterflies suffer from the scent of eucalyptus Oriental Sweet trees in the valley. When they arrived, they gently landed on the trunk and rocks in large quantities.(Photo: Place Rating).
They spend the summer in the cool and humid environment of the valley.Later, they paired from the end of August to the end of September. Most butterflies flew out of the valley, sometimes to locations 25km away, to lay eggs in safe dark places, between the dust tree and die.(Photo: Panoramio).
Butterflies come out of the cocoon in the spring and find food in the surrounding areas. They will mature in June. The heat and aroma of eucalyptus trees attract them to the valley. This cycle repeats from year to year.(Photo: Panoramio).
However, the appearance of visitors is affecting the number of butterflies in the valley. Butterfly tiger Jerse y has no stomach, they live solely on fat stored in the body as a caterpillar.Visitors' actions such as clapping or whistling startle the butterflies and often fly away from their habitat.Energy lost during flight cannot be added. Many butterflies are exhausted and die before breeding.(Photo: Flickr).
