Catch sea turtles weighing over 300kg

While fishing near the shore, a fisherman found a "giant" sea turtle wrapped in a fishing net.

Around 8 am 9/11, while fishing in the area about 500m from the shore, fishermen Ngo Minh Hoa, residing in Ngu Thuy Trung commune, Le Thuy district (Quang Binh) discovered a large sea turtle. Wrap into the fishing net system. Soon after, Mr. Hoa called many other fishermen to bring the turtles to the shore and immediately informed the local authorities.

Receiving the news, Le Thuy District People's Committee was present at the scene. Immediately after negotiating compensation for fishermen, the government side cooperated with functional forces and people to release turtles back to the sea. It is estimated that turtles weigh more than 300kg.

By 9 am, the release of turtles has been completed in a healthy state.
