Dan Richards caught the 13.5kg cod in the Folkestone Sea, Kent, England.
Dan Richard and the cod "terrible"
Dan Richards, 38, went fishing on a kayak and caught cod weighing 13.5kg. He struggled for a while before putting it on the kayak, clamping between his legs to the shore. This fish was valued at around £ 150 but Dan did not sell it but ate it with his wife and two children.
Dan recalled that he shouted when he saw the size of the cod, because the kayak was small so he was struggling to catch it.'It took me ten minutes to fight it. I have seen many photographs of people catching big fish but have never seen the big cod really. When I brought it home, the whole family couldn't believe it, " Dan said.
The cod weighs 13.5kg which is considered the record of kayak fishers in the UK.
