Chicken eggs are in chicken eggs

A man was surprised to see an unusually large chicken egg, but he was even more surprised when beating an egg.

Sean Wilson, a resident of Waterlooville, Hampshire County, England, saw an oversized egg in the nest of a hen named Rosie on January 14. The mass of eggs is 181 g. It is twice as big as Rosie's other eggs.

Guess that the egg may contain a surprise, Wilson returned to the scene of beating eggs. He felt stunned after peeling the shell.

"An egg inside an egg," he said.

Wilson's video attracted more than 500,000 hits after he posted it online.

"Chicken eggs in eggs are extremely rare. You will never meet such eggs in the supermarket," said Douglas Russell, a researcher at the British Museum of Natural History.

Russell thinks that some disorder in the contraction of muscle inside Rosie's chicken body causes an egg to enter another developing egg and form a double egg.
