The National Space Agency of China announces photos taken by Hang Nga 2 at an altitude of 18.7 km on October 28. According to Xinhua, frames covering the area are nearly 16 km long and 8 km wide.

China launched the Hang Nga 2 ship on October 1 and it flew to the moon's orbit 8 days later. At first it flew around the moon at a distance of 100 km and then shortened the distance to 15 km. The ship photographed an area called Sinus Iridium - also known as Rainbow Bay - on the moon. The photos show that the area is quite flat, with many pits and rocks of different sizes. The largest pit has a diameter of about two kilometers.

Rainbow Bay was formed after the moon collided with a meteorite from several billion years ago. It is considered one of the most beautiful places on the moon. China chose Rainbow Bay as a place for future spacecraft to land on the moon.

Hang Nga 2 will conduct a series of tests in 6 months to prepare for the landing of Hang Nga 3. According to the plan, China will launch the Hang Nga 3 ship in 2013 and this may be the landing. of unmanned ships onto China's first moon.

Beijing hopes they will get the moonstone model in 2017. After that, a Chinese human spacecraft will land on the planet by 2020.
