China discovered new dinosaur fossils

A farmer in China's Ningxia Autonomous Region, even dreaming, never imagined that he would become a " national asset " discoverer: the excavation was broadcast live on TV. The Chinese Central Government has confirmed the fossil he discovered was the new fossil of a new dinosaur that has never been discovered.

Ma Yun found ' strange objects ' on a hill in Lingwu city in April 2004 - ' brown stone ' about 20 cm in diameter. He believed this was a genus of some animal, but none of the people he knew knew what it was. It was not until 5 months later that he contacted Lingwu Cultural Heritage Bureau and was informed that the "stone" could be a much more precious thing: dinosaur fossils.

This is the first time a dinosaur fossil excavation has been broadcast live in China. Fossils were discovered in northwestern Ningxia. ' We give live television on TV excavations because these pieces of fossils are extremely valuable ,' said Professor Xu Xing, a 37-year-old archaeologist and researchers at the Institute of Paleontology The backbone of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) said.

According to Professor Xu Xing, the dinosaurs eat long-necked grass and this lizard-like leg lives around the mid-Jurassic period (about 160 million years ago).
