According to Xinhua, the study is published in the British medical journal "Clinical Infectious Diseases" . The study was co-chaired by Sun Shuihui, Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Beijing, and Zhao Guangyu, Academy of Medical Sciences.

People infected with influenza A / H7N9 virus often die from severe pneumonia and systemic inflammation, caused by acute lung infection (ALI). The death rate of people infected with influenza A / H7N9 is high due to the lack of effective treatment.

Research reports Chinese scientists use an antibody, injected into an intravenous African green monkey infected with influenza A / H7N9. The treatment process has good effect, the symptoms of ALI and systemic inflammation are markedly reduced.

"Additional suppression may be a promising supportive treatment for severe viral pneumonia , " the study said.

A / H7N9 flu often breaks out in winter and spring in China. According to China's Ministry of Health, in 2014, the country had 310 cases of influenza A / H7N9, 132 people died.
