The Health Department of Jiangxi Province, in southeastern China said it had found the first case of A / H7N9 influenza virus infection in the province, Xinhua said.

According to the report of the provincial Health Department, the patient is a man, 69 years old, residing in Nanchang city. From April 19, patients with signs of chest tightness, diarrhea, high fever should be taken to the Nanchang City No. 3 Hospital.

By April 22, the illness began to aggravate, patients with fever up to 40 degrees. On April 24, the Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention took samples to test and conclude, the patient gave a positive result to H7N9. Currently, 14 people who are in contact with patients are still being monitored but have not shown abnormalities.

Jiangxi Health Department said that the patient confirmed that he did not leave Nanchang city at the same time, nor did he contact dead poultry. However, about 100 meters from the patient's home is a live poultry market.

According to the report, Jiangxi became the 8th province in China's mainland region to develop H7N9 influenza. Previously, on April 23, Shandong Province, the northeastern province of China also discovered the first case of H7N9 infection.

Thus, in the past 3 days, in mainland China, there have been 2 more provinces to detect cases of H7N9 influenza virus.

In addition, on April 25, Taiwan also discovered the first case of H7N9 influenza virus infection. This is the first case of H7N9 infection outside of mainland China.

According to the Xinhua News Agency, the epidemic area is still concentrated mainly in the eastern and southeastern provinces of China. However, the scope of the disease seems to be continuing to expand.

This makes the domestic and international public very worried about the possibility of a pandemic outbreak on the largest scale when the Chinese government and the World Health Organization declare, not completely eliminate the possibility of H7N9 can spread from person to person.

The H7N9 flu epidemic began to appear in late March in Shanghai, China. So far, China has had 112 cases of infection in less than a month, of which more than 23 people have died.
