China launches the world's first hangar

China has successfully piloted a battery-powered overhead railroad in Chengdu City for the first time.

Instead of running on electricity, the train is equipped with lithium batteries , operating at a speed of 60km / h. Each compartment of the train accommodates 120 passengers.

Zhai Wanming, chief of project design, said the new vessel had low investment costs. However, it is more efficient and environmentally friendly than diesel or electric rail systems.

In upcoming tests, the vessel will be tracked for winding and slope before being put into use.

"The test will be conducted until the vessel runs 10,000km to test its performance before it goes into operation," Wanming added.

According to the Daily Mail, the system will operate in the air at about 6 meters above the ground - equivalent to a three-story building. Qi Zhiheng, project manager of Shanghai Aerospace Technology Joint Stock Company, said each pillar would be 80cm wide. This size is very small, suitable to be built right on the dividers.

Chengdu is the first city in China to launch an overhead railroad . Shanghai will also begin operating the system next year with four train cars, each car carrying only 70 passengers and running at speeds of 30-40km / h.
