Designed with the ability to expand up to 528 ports in a single chassis, this latest version of the Cisco MDS 9000 family of products will help strengthen storage area network (SAN) environments to meet requirements for acumen, rapid resilience after incidents, manageability, performance and cost-effectiveness.

Other breakthroughs announced by Cisco along with this MDS 9513 system include: Cisco SAN-OS 3.0 software version and 4Gbps Fiber Channel Switching and 10Gbps components used in current and new MDS 9000 products as well. published by Cisco. These new products include the full set of features of the MDS 9000 product line such as virtual SAN (VSAN), inter-VSAN routing as well as advanced security, diagnostics and management features. In addition, the new features in SAN-OS 3.0 include bandwidth management capabilities at advanced ports and enhanced FICON capabilities.

Like all other Cisco MDS 9500 systems, this MDS 9513 system offers an advanced set of features and maximum bandwidth utilization to help ensure system throughput even even when an incident occurs.
