Cleopatra may die of drugs

The famous Egyptian Cleopatra probably lost her life by a mixture of drugs, not the snake snake's bite.

Cleopatra is one of the most famous people of all time. She died in 30 BC and historians always believed that the bite of an Egyptian cobra killed her.

But now Professor Christoph Schaefer, a historian of Trier University in Germany, found evidence that Cleopatra died of drugs, not snake venom.

'Cleopatra queen is famous for gorgeous beauty. So people do not want to say that her death came slowly and her face deformed to the afterlife ' , Telegraph quoted Schaefer.

Schaefer and many other historians went to Alexandria, Egypt to find Cleopatra's death. Here they study materials on ancient remedies and consult with snake experts.

In 30 BC, when the man lost his battle and committed suicide, Cleopatra also ended his life. The records state that she died with snake venom - which can cause prolonged pain and disfigurement.

But Schaefer believes that the queen has used another poison to go to death.

'Cleopatra wants to preserve beauty until she dies to maintain the myths surrounding her beauty. So perhaps she used a mixture of opium, hemlock, and aconitum (an extremely toxic substance originating from the early trees). At that time it was known that this mixture caused painless death within hours', Schaefer said.

Queen Cleopatra ruled from 51 to 30 BC and was the last pharaoh of Egypt. After she died, Egypt became a Roman Empire province.

During the reign of Cleopatra, the relationship with Julius Caesar, the leader of the Roman Empire. After Caesar was assassinated, she fell in love with Marcus Antonius, a member of the Three-headed group who ruled Rome. The two with three children and many remaining letters showed that they held the wedding even though Antonius had a wife in Rome.

Cleopatra's relationship with General Antonius caused Augustus - the grandson of Julius Caesar and a member of the Three Kingdoms - to be angry. A civil war in Rome was triggered by a conflict between Antonius and Augustus. After being defeated by Augustus' army in the Battle of Actium in 30 BC, Antonius committed suicide. Cleopatra also ended her life on August 12 of the same year to not fall into Augustus. When she died, she was only 39 years old.
