Close up of the largest clean water plant in Hanoi that can be drunk at the tap
Considered to be the largest clean water plant in Hanoi, Duong river surface water plant has recently opened phase 1, with a capacity of 300,000m 3 / day and night, ensuring sufficient supply of clean water for about 3 million people, accounting for one third of the population of Hanoi and some neighboring provinces.
The project has a total investment of VND 5,000 billion in phase 1, including two main components, including collection works - raw water pumping stations, water plants planned on an area of nearly 61.5 hectares in the area. Phu Dong and Trung Mau communes (Gia Lam district, Hanoi City).
In the first phase, the project has a 76 km long clean water pipeline located in Gia Lam District, Long Bien District, Soc Son District, Dong Anh District, Hoang Mai District, Thanh Tri District and Hung Yen Province.
Intake from the Duong River supplies the plant with water.
When put into operation, Duong river surface water plant ensures sufficient supply of clean water for 1/3 of Hanoi's population (about 3 million people, in 168 communes and wards of 8 districts in the northeast region and south of Hanoi city, urban areas, industrial zones on Road 179 and some surrounding areas such as Bac Ninh, Hung Yen .) and gradually replace groundwater sources for a long time.
The plant is designed to operate completely automation, technology from Europe, reuse the country of production, does not discharge to the environment, saves energy.

Following this period, the Duong River Surface Water Plant Project will develop and expand continuously by 2023 to 600,000m 3 / day and night and capacity to 900,000m3 / day and night in the future. The project uses raw water exploited from the Duong River with good quality and flow to ensure water supply for daily life and meet the development stages to raise the capacity of the water plant till 2050.
