Creating antibodies from mustard seeds

Researchers from Ghent University in Belgium have successfully produced anti-hepatitis A antibodies from watercress seeds. This breakthrough could help scientists produce more effective drugs to fight cancer and infections.

Earlier, Dutch scientists also succeeded in producing antibodies in tobacco plants.

Antibodies are proteins that can act as the body's resistance. They can be used to fight various types of cancer and infections.

The system is used to produce antibodies in plants cheaper than the methods currently used to produce antibodies in animals.
