Breakthrough in using black sesame treatment compound
A reporter in Bangkok led a notice from Chiang Mai University saying that researchers from the Northern Thai University confirmed a compound called Sesamin, extracted from black sesame seeds, has the effect of blocking the development of cancer cells, while stimulating antibody production in the human body.
Researchers at Chiang Mai University's Center for Tissue and Stem Cells have successfully extracted and tested Sesamin , a natural compound from black sesame seeds, to use it as part of therapy. cancer.
Previously, researchers around the world also experimented with Sesamin. However, the center's team made a breakthrough when using Sesamin to treat a 21-year-old female patient with lymphoma.

The patient was diagnosed with the disease two years ago and performed chemotherapy to destroy cancer cells. After combining chemotherapy with the use of Sesamin extract, the patient recovered at a faster rate and the disease was significantly reduced.
Explaining Sesamin's mechanism of action, Thai researchers said that normally, substances produced from cancer cells will stimulate the development of abnormal blood vessels. In turn, these newly created blood vessels will nourish and spread cancer cells throughout the body.
Sesamin will slow the growth of new blood cells, leading to cancer cells not being nourished and will destroy themselves. Sesamin also stimulates the production of antibodies that attack cancer cells.
The team has now filed a patent application for studies of Sesamin as well as Sesamin commercial production in both Thailand and abroad.
