Dead to live again thanks to cold ice bath

Death and death seem to happen only in movies, but this phenomenon really exists. That miracle happened in Turkey with Bulent Sonmez, though after waking up this patient had a memory loss.

Miraculously died back to life thanks to cold ice bath

Bulent Sonmez's patient died again after being released into a cold bath by doctors. Shortly after being admitted to the hospital, Bulent Sonmez's condition became extremely bad, the patient's heart stopped beating.

Hoping to save the last life, doctors who used an emergency measure were always controversial, cooling their bodies down to 30 ° C to limit the effects on internal organs due to lack of oxygen. When Bulent's heart bounced back, the team of doctors took 24 hours to maintain the heart rate and bring Bulent's body temperature back to normal.

However, unfortunately, after being given an emergency, this 40-year-old patient can only remember half of his life and has no memories of his wife and children. Eight months after that horrific emergency, the Turkish Bulent patient was slowly connecting his memory pieces even though there were still many big holes.

Bulent's wife, Sibel Sonmez, said: 'This is like a movie, I didn't know how to explain to him how the two children are waiting at home. I tried to prove it by showing him the photos, but it took a while to convince him. '

Dr. Omer Zuhtu said: 'The patient was discharged from the hospital 8 months ago and seems to have regained most of his memory. We did not pay much attention to the side effects of hypothermia for emergencies. This is a controversial way, but in this case, it certainly saved Bulent's life. '

Treatment of hypothermia can be used to limit the effects of hypoxia in patients with heart attacks, but can cause serious brain damage. This method is sometimes used in the UK when written consent has been provided by patients' relatives.
