A two-headed, independently-operated rattlesnake was found in New Jersey, USA. It was named "Double Dave".

According to the Guardian, scientists have named the rare double-headed rattlesnake "Double Dave" after it was discovered in a forest in New Jersey state, USA.

The young rattlesnake was discovered last month by environmentalists from the Herpetological Associates group, which specializes in endangered reptiles.

Double Dave's name comes from the snake was discovered by the environmentalist Dave Schneider and another of his colleagues named Dave. This venomous snake is 25cm long, has two fully developed heads, meaning it has up to 4 eyes and 2 blades for positioning.

Two-headed snakes are often considered an omen of a disaster in many different cultures, they also often appear in myths. Although the rate of occurrence of this situation in the wild is only 1 in 100,000, bipedal snakes have been known more since the development of social networks.

In recent weeks, another two-headed snake has become famous after it was discovered at the Tabanan resort in Bali.

Because Double Dave's chance of survival in the wild is not high, this two-headed snake is now kept by Herpetological Associates.
