TEPCO, Japan Power Company on May 1, estimated that the leaked water is estimated at 40 ml . Earlier, workers discovered a wet patch about 20 cm in size at 9:30 local time.

On the surface where the water leaked, the beta radiation level was found to be 70 millisievert / hour . TEPCO has placed sand bags around the tank to prevent spreading to other areas.
According to RT, the leak occurred on the same day the operation inspection experts prepared before building a frozen earth wall about 1.5 km long around the reactors. This project aims to prevent leakage of radioactive water from the Fukushima plant to the sea.
