In 2015, Braswell and his colleagues unearthed a palace built around the 400s. Inside the tomb, archaeologists discovered ceramic vases, large stones and pendants made of jade. can be used for the first time in rituals for wind and rain. This is considered a sacred traditional ceremony of the Mayan people.

On the pendant there is an "ik" sign , which researchers say stands for "wind and breath" . The inscription on the jewel shows the antiquity most likely to be used during the ceremony since 672. According to Braswell, this pendant may be a sacred object buried as a tribute to the Wind God.

"When the Maya dynasty collapsed, climate change such as drought led to the forgetting of Mayan civilization. The rains appeared constantly and reminded us of the danger of climate change." , Braswell said.

Scientists reveal the writing on the jewel in the popular Mayan character, this is the oldest style discovered in the area. However, they still need time to learn the mysterious story behind the precious jewel.
