Discovered genes that cause skin spots

A team of researchers at Dundee University (UK) claims to have taken an important step in understanding skin disease. Specifically, they identified the role of p34 in causing PPK skin spot (keratosis - congenital foot).

This disease causes the skin to have thick, lumpy, painful and inconvenient spots for patients. The researchers' new findings will help diagnose the PPK skin spot sooner and treat the disease.
The research team led by Professor Irwin Mclean of Dundee University published the results of this study in Nature Genetics.
Professor McLean said: 'We not only found this gene but also showed how the gene works - this is very important. When this gene is destroyed, the cells under the skin will grow very quickly and this causes the skin to become lumpy, thick and hurt the skin. If this gene works normally, the skin will not show any signs of disease. '
PPK skin disease is one of many skin diseases of PPK. These PPK diseases are often quite uncommon. It is estimated that about 15,000 Britons suffer from PPK skin spot.
This gene was discovered using a new generation of technology, allowing researchers to massively test genes for a short time.
Professor McLean said: 'This is a big step in diagnosing genetic diseases and the causes of genetic diseases. This technology has made a big difference and has great benefits for people with diseases like this disease '.
