The sculpted image is sketchy but the head is sculpted in a very sophisticated way. The eyes are full of mysteries and the look no one can explain. Sphinx's eyes stared out at the desert with a puzzled look. The statue is over 18 meters tall and stretches to 57 meters, its surface is 5 meters wide, at 1.57 meters, with a nose of 1.7 meters.
It is thought that the Sphinx has existed for at least 5,000 years! Why design this statue? A proof that we obtained comes from finding a church located between the legs of this monster. This small shrine has the pen of two ancient Egyptian emperors. The two explained that the Sphinx represents one of the shapes of Harmachis. And the two also said that the purpose of making Sphinx is to drive away all evil and sinful things from the cemetery around the pyramid.
In Egypt there are many Sphinx statues, in addition to the large Sphinx in Gizah. The statue represents the emperors. In the holy books of Egypt, Sphinx means ' king '.
For primitive religions in Egypt as well as elsewhere, the king is considered the strength and wisdom of many animals by wearing their insignia. So the Egyptians touched their gods and emperors half-human and half-animal.
The concept of Sphinx has been transmitted from Egypt to other civilizations, such as Assyria and Greece. In these regions, Sphinx often has wings. In Assyria Sphinx is usually a man, but in Greece Sphinx has a woman's head.
The Greeks had a legend about the Sphinx as follows: The Sphinx lived on a rock and killed anyone who passed without answering the following puzzle: 'What went by four feet in the morning, Two-legged walk at noon, going on three feet at night? '. Ocdipus replied that it was human, crawling with all four limbs as a child, walking straight on both feet as an adult and walking with the stick when old.
That's the right answer, so the furious Sphinx rushed down from the rock and died. Another source said that: by Sphinx is the pupil of the wise goddess! The goddess once said that if anyone solved that sentence of Sphinx, the Sphinx would have to die!
